St Stephen's Lutheran Church
Believe in Yourself, God Does

Melody Burks, editor April May 2015

This is the most blessed time of the year. We have just celebrated the resurrection of our Saviour and we see nature's  resurrection everyday. But still, the news is depressing and there is always something to grumble about. Each of us have our own struggles and pain.....

But we are told over and over to put our faith in God. To trust Jesus to help us through our dark times.

Maybe we pray. Maybe we look up instead of down. Maybe we look towards a better tomorrow and leave the darkness behind. Maybe we put it all in the hands of Jesus and trust he has a plan whether we see it or not.

St Stephen's Lutheran Church
Schedule for Lent and Holy Week

Melody Burks, editor March 2015

This year we are having mid week Round Table Discussions for our Lenten Season. We meet at 6 pm for our traditional Soup, Salad and Dessert dinner then stay in the fellowship area for our discussion.

In our first week we discussed "What is Ash Wednesday?"

We discovered that although Lent or Ash Wednesday are not specifically mentioned in the Bible it was established by the early church, probably around 300 AD.

St Stephen's Lutheran Church
Church Congratulated Confirmation Students

Melody Burks, editor June 2014

We happily welcomed three young adults as confirmed members of the church on June 8 Pentecost Sunday.

These young people have studied hard and have been eager to learn about the Bible and though we studied in a non traditional way they have shown that they know and understand the teachings of Luther. They are still growing in their faith so I ask that you keep them in your prayers and welcome them as confirmed and vital members of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. New confirmals: Jolean Reed, Jordan Althouse and Sam Able.
